Jeannette Martin was born in Brooklyn New York. She studied art at Bennington College in Vermont and also at the Art Students League in New York. While there she was a student of Robert Beverly Hale during his last years as a teacher of drawing and anatomy.

She has shown work at various galleries in the Northeast and has her work in many private collections across the U.S and Europe.

She resides in Massachusetts and summers in midcoast Maine.
